LEGAL
Terms of Service
Effective June 2026.
Acceptance
These Terms govern your access to and use of the byteverity.com website and the informational content and tools it offers (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
What the Site is
The Site is an informational and marketing resource for ByteVerity's platform, plus a client-side verify portal that lets you re-check a record in your own browser. The Site is not the ByteVerity product itself; access to the product is governed by separate commercial agreements.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access the Site to disrupt, probe, or compromise its security or availability;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse the Site beyond ordinary browsing and evaluation;
- submit unlawful, infringing, or knowingly false information through our forms; or
- use the Site in violation of any applicable law or these Terms.
Good-faith security research conducted under our responsible-disclosure process is welcome — see our Security page.
Intellectual property
The Site and its content — text, design, code, and marks — are owned by ByteVerity or its licensors and protected by applicable law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to view the Site for your own evaluation. No other rights are granted.
The verify portal
The verify portal runs entirely in your browser and is provided for evaluation. It performs a cryptographic re-check of a record you supply; you are responsible for the records you choose to verify. We do not receive or store those records.
No warranty
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Informational content is not legal, security, or compliance advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteVerity will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time; we will revise the effective date above when we do. Your continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
